INDIANA STUDIO INFO

These dates are subject to change based on any performance or competitive opportunities that may come up.  If that does occur we will work out ways to make up for the missed time with either extending class times or special practices/workshops.  Hopefully you will take advanatage of the opportinuties to compete or perform though.

Level Up Sessions

Level Up sessions are for dancers that

  • Need to learn new steps for competition because the have levelled up/out
  • Are wanting to polish up work on current material
  • Have been given permission to learn new material
  • Have gotten behind in their practice or just need to get caught up
  • Are in need of  extra help with  steps,
  • Want to stay sharp in preparation for Regionals or any other upcoming compettiions

Our focus over the summer is performances, so we will not be spending time re-teaching material that has already been covered in class, we also won't be spending a lot of time on steps in class.

These sessions are for all levels.

If the schedule does not work for you contact me directly and we can work something out.

If you are not located near the Dayton Studio we can work out some Zoom sessions if needed.

Schedule your sessions here:

PERFORMANCE TEAM TRY OUTS

We will still welcome ALL of our dancers to participate in our performances but I think it is important to have a core group of polished, well practiced dancers at each show.  These dancers will help lead the "up and coming" dancers and to put on the best performance each time we set our feet on the stage and be the ambassadors and leaders for McGovern Irish Dance

Performance Team Practices
  • Wednesdays 5:45 - 6:45
  • Saturdays 12:00 - 1:30

Commitment is for one full session
(of course you can do both sessions)
  • Session 1 - September - February
  •  Session 2 - March - August
Tuition for Performance Team is $65/month or $360 per session

Try outs will be held Sunday August 28, 2022
Deadline to sign up for the Try Outs is August 15.
Once the sign ups come through, I will set a schedule.
Dancers that are in at least 3 Ard Grad Levels or  in Craobh grad do NOT need to try out, but simply let me know if they are willing to honor the commitment

Dancers will be asked to demonstrate the following steps/skills to the best of their ability, not the necessary perfection bt the solid attempt and willingness to go for it!

  • Level 2 or 3 Hornpipe
  • Open Organization Reel or Slip Jig
  • Front Clicks
  • Bicycles
  • Rocks
  • Cross Keys

What to Wear to Try Out
Dancers should show up to the Try Out in Black Shorts, pink logo MID shirt, poodle socks, both pairs of shoes and hair pulled off face and neck

Belonging to this team  is a very big commitment, every member needs to be just as committed as the next, therefore rules/guidelines have to be set and followed.

Every team member will make a conscious effort to support one another and help the team improve as a whole. Help each other have a positive attitude, motivate each other, and be dedicated to the team.  Dance team members need to be prepared at practices, performances, and competition.
